How Social Media and Technology Influence Our Mental Health

3.5 continuing education hour of credit (LMHC, LMSW, LCSW)

This course will cover the connections social media and technology have on our mental health and the populations impacted most. An overview of increased symptoms of some common diagnoses brought on as a result of technology and social media use. The material will prompt discussions on client presentations along with techniques you can use with clients to cope with and better manage addicting or unwanted behaviors.

Learning Objectives:
Upon completion of this course learners will be able to identify:

• 2-3 Social Media platforms and their influence on symptoms of specific diagnosis
• 2-3 Client presentations in relation to social media overuse
• 2-3 Techniques to assist clients with limiting their social media use
